"I think it was much cooler than sitting with a teacher inside the Rigshospitalet for an hour a day. It was very nice to be able to talk to others and take part in the lessons. We were also together during recess, just on the robot. Among other things, we played games or watched a film or football match," says Viktor Lund-Vogensen.

He used the robot for a year both during home isolation and during hospitalisations. And he benefited from being able to follow along at school during his illness, according to his mother:

"Before we were invited to join the project, we were worried about how we could cope with Viktor's teaching and whether the school could provide online teaching. But when the robot was in class, Viktor controlled it himself. The teachers have plenty to look after. So it was super nice that he could just manage it himself," says Mette Byskov Lund-Vogensen.

Viktor Lund-Vogensen returned to school after a year and is currently in the 7th grade. He has completed treatment, and among other things has helped the research project to put his own experiences into words, so that he can help other children with cancer.

"The robot project meant that I was not as lonely inside the Rigshospitalet. It helped me a lot. I didn't have to have extra lessons when I came back to class, and I'm glad about that. I was a little academically and socially behind. But I recovered very well after that. This would help many more children, because it is a bit difficult when you are hospitalised," says Viktor Lund-Vogensen.
