The AV1 robot pilot in Wirral schools is making it easier for kids who can’t attend class to stay connected.

Outlined in a report by The Child of the North (and covered by Sky News), the pilot project set out to improve outcomes for students with EBSNA (emotionally based school non attendance). The results are impressive; in just one term, students using an AV1 robot:

  • Had 21% better attendance
  • Spent 42% more hours on learning
  • Increased their social engagement by 40%.

You can find the full report here, with references to AV1 on pages 21 and 31.

By letting students feel part of the class from anywhere, AV1 proves it is more than just a learning tool—they’re helping students feel included.

This pilot project is a big step in Wirral’s wider plan to support students who face barriers to school attendance.
