For many students, illness or long-term absenteeism can mean missing out on more than just lessons — it can lead to isolation from their peers and a sense of disconnection from school life. At No Isolation, we believe that no child should have to face these challenges alone. That’s why we’ve partnered with SWV VO Delflanden to bring AV1 to schools, ensuring that every student stays connected, engaged, and part of the classroom, even when they can’t be there in person.

A Partnership for Inclusive Education

SWV VO Delflanden plays a crucial role in supporting students who need additional educational assistance. Through our partnership, schools within the network can access the AV1 robot, enabling students to stay connected to their teachers and classmates, and continue their education despite their physical absence. Already, this initiative is helping students maintain continuity in their education, reducing feelings of isolation, and supporting teachers in keeping students engaged — no matter their circumstances.

Real Impact in the Classroom

The true impact of AV1 is best reflected in the experiences of students, parents, and educators who have integrated the technology into daily learning. At CLD Molenhuispad school, AV1 has been instrumental in supporting three students with long-term health conditions, ensuring they remain active members of their classroom environment.

One student, J., who is living with long COVID, shares:

"Staying connected with my classmates has become so much easier. I feel more included in the group, which makes it less daunting to attend school when I can join lessons from home when needed. "

J.’s mother also highlights the benefits:

"The pressure has eased significantly because J. can now follow many more lessons, whether at school or at home. Her classmates have gained a better understanding of her condition, and she has become more visible within the group. Both teachers and students welcome her participation, creating a supportive and positive atmosphere.”

Overcoming Challenges, Creating Solutions

While AV1 offers clear benefits, successful large-scale implementation of the technology requires careful planning. Schools need to consider key factors such as device connectivity, student support, and establishing ‘buddy systems’ for transporting the robot. As part of our collaboration with SWV VO Delflanden, we offer guidance and best practices to ensure a seamless and effective integration into classrooms.

We are proud to collaborate with SWV VO Delflanden to foster inclusive learning environments where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
