Robot in the classroom helped cancer sufferer Charles

When Charles was about to start the fourth grade, he was diagnosed with leukaemia, which meant that he could not always be in class. Then he was able to participate via AV1, which was placed on his desk in the classroom.

  • When Charles Hansson was about to start fourth grade, he learned that he had the cancer disease leukaemia, which meant that he could not always participate physically in the lessons.
  • The robot AV1 was placed on his desk and through it he could both communicate, look around the classroom and express different emotions to his teacher and class.
  • "Sometimes they took me out on recess too so I could see when my friends jumped rope and stuff like that," says Charles, who is now doing well and participating physically in his fifth year of school.
