Can't connect to AV1

This article differs based on which model of AV1 you have.

Model AV2

There are several possible reasons that you can’t connect to the AV1. Double check that your tablet or phone is connected to a cellular or wifi network. You can check by opening your browser and try to connect to a page you like.

  1. Look at the speech bubble over AV1’s head and see if the robot is turned off. Contact a teacher or friend that are in the classroom and ask them to turn on AV1 again
  2. Check AV1’s battery level in the app. Go to Settings → About AV1. If the battery level is unknown AV1 might be turned off or out of battery. If the battery level is particularly low you may also experience difficulties connecting.
  3. The next thing you should do is to contact someone at the school so they can help you to check AV1:
    • Is the battery low or empty?
    • Is AV1 placed somewhere without cellular or wifi network?

 

Model AV1b

There are several possible reasons that you can’t connect to the AV1. Double check that your tablet or phone is connected to a cellular or wifi network. You can check by opening your browser and try to connect to a page you like.

  1. Check AV1’s battery level in the app. Go to Settings → About AV1. If the battery level is unknown AV1 might be turned off or out of battery
  2. The next thing you should do is to contact someone at the school so they can help you to check AV1:
    1. Is AV1 turned off?
    2. Is the battery empty?
    3. Is AV1 placed somewhere without cellular or wifi network?
    4. Does AV1 have four red lights in a square on its head? If yes, it needs a restart
